Pastor: C. Marvin Beatty, III
C. Marvin Beatty, III graduated from North Mecklenburg High and was a soldier in the U.S. Army. He is married to Dorothy Beatty and together they are the proud parents of two, Shakea and C.M. Beatty IV. Elder Beatty was raised in the church; he is the son of Bishop C.M. Beatty, Jr. In Elder Beatty's life Trials, temptation and failures came, during that time he realized he needed GOD's help. He tried everything satan and the world had to offer, hence ending up in both spiritual and natural bondage. However, what the devil meant for evil, GOD turned around for good. GOD showed Elder Beatty unconditional LOVE while he was yet in bondage, desolation, and despair. It was at the point in his life when Elder Beatty began to experience a one on one relationship with GOD. He understood GOD was the potter and he was the clay. He was being remade, reshaped, and restored. Elder Beatty is a work in progress and is a willing vessel desiring to serve and be used of the LORD.
The Honorable Founder The Late Bishop Curtis Marvin Beatty Jr.
From Labor to Reward. Bishop Curtis M. Beatty, Jr Our Pastor, Our Leader, Our Friend June 11, 1951 - March 28, 2010
Bishop Curtis M Beatty, Jr. achieved many accomplishments here at New Covenant. Under his leadership, the church has grown tremendously increasing its membership to over 650 plus members, including those rededicated. Through the vision of our shepherd, we are now in process of building a new edifice, which has sanctuary seating of over 1000. The vision shall come to pass!
In 1974 Bishop C.M. Beatty came to Charlotte and started what was then know as Bibleway Church #4. The first services were held in his sister's home with and then to a storefront and finally in 1977 ground was broken for the present worship facility. The church was paid in full April 28, 1980 and a fellowship hall added in 1984.
In 1994 Bishop Beatty had a vision and a higher calling from our Lord to provide greater leadership to his flock. It was through a revelation from GOD that allowed him to see his people in need of a deeper love and a complete forgiveness of their sins. Through the scripture found in Hebrews 8:6, God shoed Bishop that we could obtain better promises through Christ Jesus by the way of a New Covenant. Upon accepting Gods word found in Hebrews 8:12 that reads for I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more, we are entitled to receive the blessings of GOD. We can let got of the pas regardless of how dark it may have been and hold our heads up proclaiming: I AM SOMEBODY Focusing on these beliefs, the church will proper and be blessed because we are established upon better promises. New Covenant Bibleway Church was formed as a result of Bishop Beatty's calling and revelation of his vision.
Spiritually: God has gave Bishop Beatty a vision to lead his parishioners and congregants to experience God in every aspect of their lives. He believed God had charged him to empower God's people for the work of the ministry and the edifying of the body of Christ.
Structurally: Through tithes, offering, talent and time, of our dedicated members, Bishop Beatty visualized a new edifice, family life center and a full service child development center. He believed the church should be more that brick and mortar but, empowered people reaching beyond the walls to meet the total needs of mankind.
Personally: He desired to be a servant of GOD, committed to serving GOD's people. He desired to be a Pastor lead of GOD and not influenced by the wiles of man. HE truly wanted his steps to be ordered by God.
Bishop Beatty is married to Deborah B. Beatty, together they are the proud parents of four children: C. Marvin III, Adrianne, Gary and Chemaria and the grandparents of two: C.M. Beatty IV, Brittany and Brice. The couple has also served as surrogate parents for many other children in the church and community.
